Sea Turtle Hatchery in Habaraduwa Koggala

There are a few turtle hatcheries in Sri Lanka who work hard on guaranteeing the survival of these lovely creatures.

These are mostly places where the turtles once in a full moon lay there eggs in the sand. But often they are stolen by those people who love to eat them.

But other people have a heart and a brain when taking them to the hatchery for safe breeding and to get them back into the sea, where only one percent will survive to grow old and to lay their eggs at the very same beach years later.
